It takes a lot to share so openly. Thank you for your candor.

This aspect of it in particular is quite horrifying. Really kinda embarrassing. But if you don't know, then you can't know unless we open our mouths. Not only for the sake of those around us. Most people don't WANT to know this kind of stuff, even those who say they love us. But for anybody else going through it so they know they're not alone, for anybody who can't figure out how to describe what's happening to them (they can point and say, "Yeah! That!"). And one of the biggest reasons I'm so open about it is because there is so little information, and so little understanding of this condition so... The majority of us don't have the ability to share these things in such clear detail, either because the damage is too great to communicate it coherently, or because they're not writers. I can do it. So I do. Takin' one for tha team. Hahaha!

Thank you for being here with us. 🥰 And for appreciating the candor. I get a lot of flack for my writing. It is really not for everybody.

But then...that's just it. It's not for everybody. I write it for the ones who want to know, and especially for those who need to know. Purrrrr...

As long as your true to yourself it really doesn’t matter what others think!

The world (especially in online spaces) needs a little more candor and a little less polish.

OOOOOOMGs YES. I keep hearing about how people are “sick of the perfectly crafted Selfie-Image and want to see authenticity.” And I do keep seeing that bleed through online. I’m hoping it will trickle in and then break the dam but…ya know. So mostly I keep trickling in and hunting for the beautiful individuals who do the same. 🥰

“ I got French-kissed by Death” — great phrase, I am definitely going to steal that hahaha.

Also the spools of thread and then the pesky cats and dogs batting them about and digging them up — was a fantastic analogy for how to describe Complex PTSD. It gave me a much clearer way to understand it.

I also really like how you ended this piece — with the things that got you through. Those little glimmers of light, tnay become so much more appreciated. :)

They do! Even re-reading this piece to edit it - every time it’s like…ahhhhhhhhhh. Balm to the raw, inflamed soul. “Analogy”—dammit that’s the word! Thank you. I can never remember that one. Now that the world has gotten all hoity-toity persnickety about analogy, metaphor, simile, etc. but that’s the word I can never think of and it’s the thing I do all the time. Hahahaha! I’m so glad it painted the picture instead of being a WTF spaz-out of chaotic evil. (I mean, they are, but I’m glad they were comprehensible. Especially because you’re a cat owner—I mean, Cabana Boy of Nyx.)

Thieve away, my good word-pirate! Yaaaaar!

Hahah I hear ya! I get metaphors and analogy’s mixed up all the time, in fact, if I’m honest, I’m not sure I could even explain the difference haha.

Word-pirate ahoy yaaarr! :)

Yaaaaar indeed! And yeah…I’m not that picky about it which is why I’ve never bothered to try to get all technical about the distinctions.

Yeah I don’t think the distinctions matter — what matters is you can craft good ones (whatever their called) :)
