✨💖✨ I think grief and sorrow are the scariest emotions to expose to the interwebz. To society in general unless you’re being stoic at a funeral and Hashtag Holding Up with only 3 allowable still-pretty tears. It’s too often written off as whining, wallowing or drama. The way the world is set up, we don’t make enough room for this super common emotion of mourning. It is the most fragile, raw and tender one in here, yet when it is held gently and just allowed to be what it is, turns out it’s one of the most powerful, healing ones of them all.
So having you here with this part of my story means sooooo, so much, my dear. ✨🙏✨
I’m so glad that it landed that way. I always hope that these pieces won’t wind up being big ole downers because...I don’t know any other way to tell them than how they landed for me.
Heh heh heh...I was wondering which one would tickle you today. 😈 That one was like...”huh. Yep. Annnnd there it is. Another thing you see in the movies all the time but that is straight up truth.” 🤣
I know what you mean, I worry I come across as if I’m complaining in some of my pieces, but we can only tell things how we see them... so what can you do?
But yes, I think it landed well.
Hahaha I guess the movies have to get some things right :)
My heart is aching for you!

This is such a beautiful and sad story.
The romance, the excitement, the meet-cute story. And then for it all to be derailed by that damn drunk driver.
I feel for you, Alexx.
But on the plus side you write a ripping good story. This line made me giggle:
“... and I got to experience a NYC subway, complete with graffiti, snoozing guy, and urine-coated floor.“

And well, certain things need to be complained about. Like flippin’ drunk drivers.
And urine-coated floors. And spiky-heel stabbers. And obnoxious belly dancers who can stuff 5 jumbo shrimp in their gobs at a time. And...😝
Haha indeed :)
