This was such an interesting and well-written story, Alexx. It’s so cool that you have such a detailed memory of how you came to writing. And it’s so impressive that you could write so well even back then.
Dance and writing. They were always the things I could just...DO. And yes, the majority of my memories from before December 21, 2000 are super clear. I actually have memories from the crib and changing table. That's why it was such a particular devastation to no longer be able to make and store memories correctly since my big car wreck, and why my journals are so important. They all apparently make it in there. I just can't access them in the customary way.
I'm always fascinated by the creative process. What sparks a project, all the pieces that go into its formation, how it all gets organized and comes out the other end as Art. All righty, speaking of...I have my tea now and the computer is set up so it's time to rev the NaNo engines!
Thanks for being here with me as I dive into this huge project!!
The creative process fascinates me as well. I am constantly amazed by how the process unfolds even within myself. And I always find it funny how I get so caught up in the concerns of the process as if I haven’t gotten through such things 100s of times before.
Sometimes I just find myself getting worried I’m not gonna find a way through to the end of the project (even though I always do). Or sometimes I get worried the piece doesn’t ‘work’ or that it’s too ‘weird’ or some other nonsense like that, which when the project is all said and done never ends up being an issue.
Right?!?! Ugh. So annoying. And you'd think that, after doing this enough times that the little voices would stop hissing. Mine don't. I think what gets stronger is the mind-muscle to hug them and pet them and call them George until they calm down and I can just share the darn thing. Or keep it only for me.

Glad to be here :)
Fascinating...how do you get caught upon the concerns?

Mine don’t either.
But yes, I agree it gets easier to just acknowledge that voice and share the piece anyway.
‘George’ is an amazing name for that voice!
